Hi All,

Has anyone had an opportunity to play with the IOS-XRv 9K version 6.0.0 image? Are you seeing high CPU usage (even with all ports shut down?)

Just trying to ascertain why its burning through 2 cores for what seems to be no real good reason.

Thanks
Tim.

yes.
xrv9k has eaten cpu in every version (6.0.0, 6.0.1) that i have played with. (6) running concurrent have swallowed the b200-m3 blade i was testing on.
given my test cases -- i saw cpu as a concern, but i was more interested in feature support, but i saw upwards of 9ghz cpu being used per vm.

it is not lightweight by any means in current state.

q.

My XRv test VMs (running on vmware ESX 5.5 on Intel CPUs) are all very
well behaved - typically consuming 25-40 MHz when idle, as in "a few
interfaces active, EIGRP and CDP sending packets back and forth, but
no real activity".

The 6.0.0 version is the "early release" image - the official build still
seems to be unavailable, the "software download" link on

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/routers/ios-xrv-9000-router/tsd-products-support-series-home.html

leads to CSR1000v IOS XE...

So, "6.0.0" is the answer...

I always download XRv from here (CCO accounts only):

Cheers,
James,

So do I :-) - but this seems to be somewhat experimental/demo stuff, while
a "full regular release" of 6.0.x for XRv is supposed to be released end
of April (don't ask me which year), according to
