Discussion:
[c-nsp] PRI D-Channel state 5 (dormant)?

Hello,

I have some 3845s with 23B+D PRIs terminated on them for a voice
application. We're working on test and turnup, and discovered an
annoying problem. The ifOperStatus table entry for the D-channels
occasionally goes into a state 5. According to Cisco's MIB docs,
this means that the interface is "dormant" and ready to send or
receive packets. Since we're just doing basic function tests at this
point, it's impossible for us to tell if the PRI with the dormant D-
Channel is actually working.

We're running a 12.4T release.

Any hints appreciated.

-Chris

Try calling it with an analog phone. Have Q931 debugging turned on and see
if you get the signalling inbound indicating an incoming call of type voice.
